About organising a photo competition
If you enjoy using social media like Facebook, this could be the perfect challenge. People love to show off their pets especially when they can win a prize! You can host your own photo competition, whether it's a one off or a regular monthly competition you can encourage people to send in their photo entries along with an entry fee. Then all you have to do is judge the photos and announce the winner!

Things to consider
- How and where are you going to advertise the competition?
- There will need to be a prize for the winner so that is something to consider when setting the entry fee.
- Using the Facebook group is also a great way to get people to vote for their favourite photo.
- You could separate the competition into different categories if you get lots of entries.

The key skills you will develop whilst completing this event will be:
Organisation - An organised individual will usually display other qualities that employers look for, including reliability and punctuality. It is important that you can prioritise tasks and organise your time. This challenge leader will need to to organise how people send in their entries, how people vote on their favourite photo, what the prize will be, how people will submit their entry fee and lots more!
Networking - Many of the challenges require an individual who has the ability to initiate contact with people who can help support the event in some way as well as building a relationship with people, whether they are taking part in the event or helping you organise.
Communication - Good communication is essential, so that people know what you want them to do and how to do it as well as why you are holding the photo competition. Make sure people are aware of deadlines for entries and they know when the winner will be announced.
IT - This challenge will help to develop your IT skills, especially since the best way to run this competition would be to use social media.
