What do I do if my pet needs help?

Picture of woman with dog on the Appointments page

Phone your nearest PDSA PetAid hospital and ask if your postcode falls within its catchment area. When you do phone you will be advised about the proof of benefit and proof of identity you will need to provide, and an appointment will be made for your pet to be seen.

Please remember to bring these proofs with you on your first visit.

• Same-day appointments will be offered for all urgent and emergency cases.

• Less urgent cases will be seen within five working days.

• We will see your pet within 25 minutes of your appointment time or give you reasons for the delay.

• When we are closed we will provide a 24-hour emergency service for clients.

• A vet or a nurse will assess emergencies within 5 minutes of arrival at a PDSA PetAid hospital unless there are other more seriously ill animals needing treatment.

• We will keep our waiting rooms clean and safe.

• We will offer advice on pet care and tell you where you can get more help or information.

• We have a duty to our donors to ensure that our clients qualify for PDSA treatment. We will try to make the process as simple as possible.

• Your contributions will only be used for treating sick and injured animals.
