Case studies
Our Corporate Partners play a vital role in our work as a charity. Every partnership is different and is developed over time to meet mutually beneficial objectives for our corporate partners and us, the PDSA. We value the expertise and skills that each of our partners offer, as well as the financial support to help us build on existing ideas and develop exciting new initiatives.
Here are a few examples of some of our sucessful partnerships.
Asda
Our developing relationship with Asda over this last year has helped PDSA raise vital funds to support our services as well as raising awareness of our work. We ran a national fundraising initiative over three days in 167 Asda stores throughout the UK. This helped raise over £43,000 pounds. This activity was supported by hundreds of PDSA volunteers, social media and co- branding online and in stores. PDSA will be appearing in seven monthly articles in the Asda magazine through the year as well as contributing educational messages for the Asda .com website.
"Partnering with the PDSA has been a success for all involved this year. Our customers have loved engaging with the PDSA vets through social media, Asda magazine, and in person in our stores over the recent Pet Event. The relationship has also raised the profile of the PDSA, allowed our collegaues and customers to contribute to the work that they do, and also helped share some information to keep the pets of Great Britain healthier! We look forward to working with the PDSA as we continue through 2012" Graham Speak, Household & Pet Marketing Manager, Asda.
Armitage - Corporate Partnership
Armitage and PDSA have worked together since 2009 and have been raising awareness around dietary understanding for pet owners. Armitage are finding that with PDSA’s credibility they are adding value to their customers and giving themselves a point of difference to their competitors. In turn this is driving incremental revenue and sales that they can give a proportion back to PDSA. At the same time, PDSA are able to deliver key messages to the general public whilst generating much needed funding.
New Look - Volunteering
Fashion retailers New Look offer their employees 2 days per year to volunteer. A group of 12 from their HR team spent one of their days at the PDSA Bournemouth PetAid Hospital planting shrubs and weeding. The team are based in 2 sites so it was a great chance to work on a project together and in some cases meet for the first time.
“ The day was great for team bonding. It was good to see how what we did today helps PDSA.”
John Lewis - Volunteering
PDSA are keen to work up projects that play to the strengths of individual employee volunteers. Renowned department store John Lewis are known as leaders in customer service. One of their team joined the staff at the PDSA Kirkdale PetAid Hospital (The Jeanne Marchig Centre) on a 6 month secondment. Working with our staff the volunteer shared her visual merchandising skills to make the waiting room more inviting and her excellent customer service skills to maximise the time spent with our clients. Her time at PDSA has been invaluable to us in offering our staff a new perspective whilst she returns to John Lewis with demonstrable leadership skills.
