Pet Hospital Appeal
PDSA has an infrastructure of 49 pet hospitals that are based in areas of significant need. Despite our already vast reach there are still areas of the country where we are struggling to satisfy the incredible demand for our service. To help bridge this gap we are developing our pet hospitals and building new ones to continuously develop and improve the care that pets in need have.
New hospitals needed in Birmingham, Plymouth and Cardiff
PDSA is currently running the Pet Hospital Appeal where we need to raise funds to build three new replacement pet hospitals in Birmingham, Plymouth and Cardiff. In each of these areas we have a pet hospital that is no longer fit for purpose and no longer able to satisfy the huge demand that is stretching our services to the maximum. We have extended our opening hours and where possible we have extended the buildings, but we’re now at the point where we can extend no more and therefore desperately need a replacement pet hospital that will be designed to satisfy demand for the next 40 years.
Collectively, Birmingham, Cardiff and Plymouth PDSA pet hospitals treated over 30,000 pets last year, however, this was in unsustainable conditions and we’re anticipating even greater demand in the next few years.
