Beau the cat

Beau’s story

Beau, a 12 year old cat, was registered with Safe hands by his owner, a retired doctor from Yorkshire, who had kindly included a gift in his will for PDSA’s work.

When his owner passed away, we set about finding a welcoming home for Beau. Happily, we didn’t have to look too far and Beau was quickly and happily rehomed with a member of PDSA’s Head Office team.

Can I register all my pets?

As we are not a rehoming charity, we do have to apply some limits on the number and type of pets that can be rehomed.

  • A maximum of three pets per household.

  • Only the following pets can be registered (Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Ferrets, Gerbils, Rats, Mice, Cage Birds, Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters & Tortoises)

  • Vaccination certificates for each pet registered need to be sent to PDSA (we will take a copy and return your original).

How do I register my pets for Safe Hands?

There are some simple rehoming forms to complete, which need to be returned to us along with the following:

  • A photograph of your pet for our files and future identification.

  • Original copies of up-to-date vaccination certificates – these will be copied and returned to you.

  • PDSA’s Pledge Card, confirming the gift you have included in your will for our work.

For more detailed information, read the Safe Hands information booklet.
