Diagnostic suite
Can you help us build and equip the diagnostic suites at our new pet hospitals in Birmingham, Plymouth and Cardiff?
Find out how you can get involved
What is the diagnostic suite?
The vet has access to a wide range of equipment in this room, such as: an ECG (electrocardiogram) to monitor a pet's heart function; an ultrasound and endoscope to investigate internal problems in a non-invasive and non-stressful way keeping the risk to the pet patient to a minimum.
How can I sponsor the diagnostic suite?
The diagnostic suites in each of our pet hospitals cost £90,000 to build and fully equip.
If you are interested in donating the full amount, please get in touch with our pet hospital appeal team on 0800 0199 004 or use our online contact form
Help us buy the equipment we need for our diagnostic suites
£300 could pay for a special ultra violet lamp, used to find out if a pet has a fungal skin infection
£2,000 Could pay for an Electrocardiogram (ECG) – used by the vet to closely monitor the electrical activity of a pet’s heart
£10,000 Could pay for an ultrasound machine, used by the vet to view a pet’s insides
A donation of any amount will help us build our much needed new pet hospitals and build hope for all the pets who need us.

Leo
PDSA vets saved the life of Leo the Labrador after performing emergency surgery to remove three socks from his stomach!
Leo had already undergone surgery to remove a bone which had become lodged in his rectum. Then just a few months later he became unwell again, Senior Vet Ian could feel something in his abdomen so the team took him straight into theatre where they found the socks blocking his bowel.
Luckily, Leo's made a full recovery now and his owners have vowed to keep a closer eye on the greedy pooch!
