Inheritance Tax
Inheritance Tax used to be something only ‘wealthy’ people need to consider, but this is no longer the case.
Although the change announced by the Chancellor in his pre-budget speech allows for the transfer of an unused allowance to a surviving spouse, it is as important as ever to have an up to date will. And remember there is no change for single people, or divorced couples.
By making some simple provisions in your will the amount of inheritance tax payable can be significantly reduced. It is important to look at your own circumstances and seek advice.
PDSA's IHT calculator is intended as a guide, independent advice should be sought as individual circumstances will impact on the amount of Inheritance Tax due. |
