My hamster seems to be having problems with his teeth. What should I do?
Hamsters have teeth that are continuously growing, which is why they sometimes get problems. Mostly, dental problems arise where the teeth are not worn down enough or evenly. This can happen, for example, if the diet doesn't provide enough wear or the hamster chews the metal bars on their cage. You can place special wooden gnawing blocks that you can buy from any good pet shop, in the cage, but you need to get your hamster's teeth checked out by the vet. The teeth may need trimming to correct any uneven wear.
