They also served! A remarkable work of art in tribute. In a major tribute to the role of animals in war PDSA has commissioned a bronze sculpture featuring World War II animal search and rescue dog, Beauty DM.
The work celebrates over 60 years of the PDSA Dickin Medal - internationally recognised as the animals' Victoria Cross - and is available for purchase in a limited-edition of just 60 bronzes worldwide. Whether you are moved by stories of animal gallantry in war, a collector of World War II memorabilia or simply a collector of fine bronzes, Beauty DM captures perfectly the devotion and service of animals during times of human conflict.
Sculpted by internationally acclaimed artist, Caroline Wallace, the bronze stands 27cm (10.5 inches) high and incorporates an impression of the PDSA Dickin Medal awarded to Beauty in January 1945. Beauty and her 59 PDSA Dickin Medal animal colleagues have saved literally hundreds of human and animal lives from World War II to the recent conflict in Iraq. Here she is depicted on the occasion of the award of her VC, resting in the arms of her owner Bill Barnet who was a PDSA Animal Rescue Squad Superintendent during the Blitz in London.

PDSA is proud to be able to offer this exclusive limited-edition bronze work of art of Beauty DM at the very special price of £1,995 (including VAT and postage).
