Sir John Butterfill FRICS MP
Sir John has been the Conservative MP for Bournemouth West since 1983. He joined PDSA Council in 1990 and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee. Sir John is a member of a number of parliamentary panels and committees, including the Parliamentary Court of Referees and the Speaker’s Panel of Chairmen. He is also a Director and Trustee of the Streetwise Partnership Trust, President of the Youth Cancer Trust, Vice President of the British Resorts Association and President of the Dorset & New Forest Safe Water Society. Sir John was Knighted in the 2004 New Year’s Honours for services to parliament.
Mr Richard Clowes BSc
Richard Clowes joined PDSA as a Trustee in 2006 after retiring in 2005 as Group Managing Director Corporate Development for global manufacturer, GKN. Prior to joining GKN in 1991, Richard held various positions with TI Group plc. He is a Chartered Engineer and former Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham University. Richard is a member of PDSA’s Finance & Investment Committee.
Mr Mike Dernie BA FRSA MCIPR
Mike Dernie joined PDSA as a Trustee in 2006 from an extensive background in public relations. He trained and qualified as a newspaper journalist before joining British Gas plc and then Midlands Electricity plc, where he was Corporate Relations Director. He is now an independent PR consultant. Mike has extensive experience as a non-executive director and as chairman or member of charity boards. He is a fellow of the RSA and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Mike is also a Trustee of the PDSA Retirement Benefits Plan.
Mr Roger Hills
Roger Hills became a PDSA Trustee in 2004. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Roger was Executive Director of Schroder Investment Management Ltd, and Chairman of Schroder Personal Investment Management Ltd. He has subsequently been appointed a Trustee of the Schroder Charity Common Investment Funds and is a Trustee of two charities associated with Roald Dahl. He has been a keen PDSA supporter for many years and is dedicated to helping preserve African wildlife. Roger is a member of PDSA’s Finance & Investment Committee and a Trustee of the PDSA Retirement Benefits Plan.
