Pet Health Video: Pet Drug Dosage 2

PDSA vet, Lynda, takes us through the calculation to tell us how much sedative drug Jack Russell terrier, Jack, will need. Jack weighs 5kg and needs 0.1mg per kg, so he therefore needs 0.5mg of sedative. The sedative medication contains 2mg per ml, so by dividing the 0.5mg that he needs by 2, we find out that he needs 0.25ml of the medication.
