Winners announced for top awards!
Each school year, Pet Protectors battle it out to be crowed Pet Protector and Young Fundraiser of the Year. We can now announce the 2011 winners!
Congratulations to Sophie Curran, who is our 2011 Fundraiser of the Year and to Faith Louise Smith who is our 2011 Pet Protector of the Year.
Sophie has been busy selling cakes, flowers and pictures. As well as doing a sponsored cycle ride, holding a mini fair and filling up her collection box with lots of spare change. Altogether she raised £260 for PDSA.
Pet Protector of the Year, Faith Louise has donated thousands of items and spent her pocket money in PDSA stores, earning her 62,760 points. As part of her prize she received a VIP tour of her nearest PDSA PetAid hospital.
Her Nan, Rosmary said: 'We all think she's brilliant and are very proud of her. She's always asking her family and friends for things that she can donate to her local PDSA store. She's very determined and hopes to win the trophy again next year.'
Youth and Education Manager, Vicki Craighill added: 'The Fundraiser and Pet Protector of the Year awards are the Club's top awards and we are very proud of the winners and their achievements over the last 12 months. We are continually inspired by how creative our members are in thinking of ways to raise money and help PDSA.'
Pet Protectors work hard to earn points in lots of ways, including donating items or spending money in our stores, sending in photos and drawings, and promoting the work of PDSA by giving talks or displaying posters. Find out more about the Pet Protectors Club here.
