Pet E.R - Rambo

What happened: Rambo's owners were shocked when they arrived home one evening to find the tinsel had disappeared from the bottom half of their Christmas tree.

Owner's comment: The tree was virtually bare and a suspicious looking Rambo was sitting next to it. After realising what must have happened, I immediately called PDSA for advice.

Action taken: Rambo was taken in for an examination and vets performed an exploratory operation, as they suspected Rambo had eaten the tinsel and it was causing a dangerous blockage.

Vet's comment: Once we got Rambo into surgery it quickly became clear that the blockage was much worse than expected. We removed several lengths of tinsel and a huge solid ball of food the size of a melon, which had been trapped in his stomach by the tinsel. The surgery was a complete success.
