 HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, KG GCVO, PDSA Patron
HRH Princess Alexandra has been PDSA Patron since 1973, when she assumed the duty following the death of her mother, HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent. During HRH Princess Alexandra’s long association with PDSA, she has visited PDSA PetAid hospitals and shops many times, attended fundraising events and has been present at receptions at St James’s Palace. The Princess is Patron or President of numerous organisations reflecting her wide-ranging interests. She was created a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order in 1960 and made a Lady of the Order of the Garter in 2003. Princess Alexandra married in 1963 and her husband, the Rt. Hon. Sir Angus Ogilvy, died in 2004.
 Freddie M Bircher, PDSA Chairman
Freddie Bircher was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, gaining an MA in Law and Modern Languages. A retired Director of Powell Duffryn plc, Mr Bircher was Chairman of its Engineering Subsidiaries. Prior to that, he worked for many years with the Alcan Aluminium Ltd Group in the UK and in Europe, and was latterly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alcan Benelux SA.
Mr Bircher has been a PDSA Trustee since September 2001 and became Chairman in June 2004.
 Jan McLoughlin, PDSA Director General
Jan, a biochemist with an MSc in microbiology, worked in the food and drink industry in a variety of operational and senior management roles prior to joining PDSA in 2001 as Business Development Director.
Appointed to the role of Director of Veterinary Services in April 2003, Jan contributed significantly to the development of outsourced out-of-hours arrangements, new contractual terms for veterinary purchasing and the roll-out of preventive services.
On her recent appointment to the role of Director General Jan said "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead PDSA through its next phase of development. Over the last five years, as Director of Veterinary Services, I have gained a deep respect for the hard work, dedication and professionalism shown by all staff"
