Gaining veterinary work experience in a PDSA PetAid hospital

PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity caring for the pets of people in need by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals and promoting responsible pet ownership.

PDSA runs 43 PetAid hospitals and 4 PetAid branches and employs more than 210 veterinary surgeons and 260 veterinary nurses. With a national annual caseload of more than 1.8 million treatments, at any PetAid hospital, you will see a wide range of interesting cases should you be successful in gaining a Seeing Practice or other work experience placement with PDSA.

There are a number of ways in which you may gain veterinary work experience at a PDSA PetAid hospital depending on your circumstances.

How to apply

Step 1
Go to placement types to determine what type of placement you are.

Step 2 
Read the Conditions for Seeing Practice carefully to make sure that PDSA is the place for you we do not want students or placements at our PetAid hospitals who are not committed!

Step 3
Complete the online application form which emails directly to your chosen PetAid hospital.

If you are unsuccessful at your first application you can re-apply to other PetAid hospitals.
