Squeak(y) was very loved

Squeak's early years are unknown. He was a sweet and well looked after cat when found as a stray by Cats Protection, so it's likely he had a lovely home for the first 11 years of his life. It was also there he was given his name. He couldn't meow, and just sort of squeaked. He sounded so uncat like, I once had a plumber ask if I had a pet bird lol.

He was in Cats Protection foster care for 1 year, which is a very long time. This was party due to his age, the fact he was a black cat (some think they are unlucky), and the fact he had alopecia around his mouth so looked a bit weird. I like to think he was just waiting for me.

We were together 5 years, and he displayed lots of personality in that time. He was a very vocal cat, and liked to announce himself when walking into a room. He also liked to wait for me by the front door, squeaking at me to get him dinner when I came home from work. He became particularly loud in the mornings if his breakfast was not delivered by 7am. It's also accurate to say he owned me. I would wait to see which sofa he chose before sitting down.

In the 5 years with me he lived in London, Colwyn Bay, and then finally Buckley (North Wales). He was due to move to Ireland in a few months, but despite having a passport ready he decided Wales would be his final resting place.

In the last year he had gone deaf, and had been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. Very aggressive cancer though was what finally got him, and I am pleased it was diagnosed before he suffered or displayed any real symptoms.
