Meet Donald

Donald is a vet at our Kirkdale PDSA Pet Hospital. It’s his job to see and treat the pet patients, including consultations and operations. When he isn't saving pets' lives, he can often be found playing minecraft with his daughter!

  • Where did you study? Royal Veterinary College, London.

  • How long have you worked for PDSA? Eight years.

  • Do you have any pets? I just have stick insects right now! But my favourite pets are guinea pigs.

  • What’s the strangest case you’ve ever seen at PDSA? Removing a foreign body [something stuck inside a pet that shouldn’t be there]. This actually happens quite frequently, but the object was very strange – a stretchy, rubbery, tentacle toy thing!

  • Tell us the most incredible survival story you’ve ever helped to treat: I operated on a little Westie that came in for a tumour removal. His vital signs crashed while he was under general anaesthetic, which can happen. But we managed to resuscitate him and he recovered really well afterwards.
