Meet Martin

Martin is a vet nurse at our Kirkdale PDSA Pet Hospital. He cares for the in-patients, delivers preventive treatments and pet wellbeing MOTs, and occasionally challenges Marie to a dance-off!

  • Where did you study? Royal Veterinary College, London.

  • How long have you worked for PDSA? One year.

  • What do you most enjoy about your job? I love the variety – each day is new and you never know what you’re going to have come through the door!

  • What’s your favourite pet? Birds of prey – they’re just epic and I’d love to be able to fly! Otherwise, cats rule! I don’t have any pets at the moment though.

  • Tell us the most incredible survival story you’ve ever helped to treat: At the PDSA I saw and assisted with my first GDV [also known as bloat], so this was a great experience to have as all my knowledge was theoretical up until then. The team were really good so I could speak and reflect with them and grow my skills.

  • Do you have any hobbies? I rock climb 3 or 4 times a week and working on climbing outdoors. I enjoy trampolining, and any activity that isn’t land-based.
