PDSA has produced the first ever comprehensive measure of animal wellbeing in the UK, revealing the state of our pet nation - The PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report
Over 11,000 pet owners were surveyed to find out how dogs, cats and rabbits are cared for.
For the Report PDSA has assessed the five key things pets need to live a healthy and happy life as outlined in The Animal Welfare Act:
Enviroment:
The need for a suitable environment (place to live)
Diet:
The need for a suitable diet
Behaviour:
The need to express normal behaviour
Companionship:
The need to live with, or apart, from other animals
Health:
The need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease
