Bumble Bee continues to make good progress

I absolutely love St Bernard’s and always kept an eye out in rescue centres when we were looking for a pet dog. And that’s exactly how Bumble Bee joined our family.

She loves to cuddle and often snuggles up to me and her friends. She’ll always take prime location on the bed when it comes to bedtime though, and will run up the stairs to get there first. It was actually on our bed that poor Bumble Bee had her first seizure.

I couldn’t afford to treat her epilepsy and I couldn’t bear thinking about what the alternative would be. But thanks to your support she is being treated at PDSA’s Cardiff Pet Hospital.

Bumble Bee is a typical St Bernard and loves sniffing around and drooling over everything. She has a habit of putting her paws up on the seats to say ‘hello’ to people and is a big softy, but always lets strangers know when she’s around by barking loudly. Our regular postman has got used to her bark, but while he was on holiday another postie brought the mail, and on the first day, I noticed him running away after hearing Bumble Bee barking! So I had a chat with him to let him know she wouldn’t hurt a fly.

One of the worst seizures Bumble Bee had was back in 2014, and it’s something I hope I never have to witness again. You can usually tell when she’s about to have a seizure, as she just goes completely blank and then begins to fit. It’s a very frightening experience. With your support and help, Bumble Bee’s future will be brighter and seizure-free.

Until next time,

Lee and Bumble Bee
