Agha

2020 hasn't been a good year for anyone, but ours got worse when we had to say goodbye to our beloved Agha.

We adopted him in 2016 as a two year old (or so we were lead to believe). He was originally from Egypt and was flown to a rescue centre they were linked with in Manchester to find his forever home. Luckily that was with us.
Recently he developed some ulcers on his tongue. After many tests, it transpired he had kidney problems too, but it was even more of a shock to find out he was actually a senior cat of around 13 years of age, which meant he was more susceptible to these problems at this late stage in his life.
Sadly, we said our goodbyes on 4th July 2020. I couldn't put him through more distress of having needles and catheters, especially as his condition wasn't improving. It would have been cruel of me to be selfish at this point. He was tired, but still happy. He had a little nap while settled on his favourite Harry Potter blanket on my lap, as well as being smothered with cuddles, kisses and love. I hope to have provided him with the best two years of his life while with us, because he gave me the best two years. Although we saved him, after everything I've been through I think he saved me more.

Agha had many nicknames; Aghadoo, mr. doo, dude, little mate, doodle doo, didgeridoo & many other funny variaitons & I'm going to miss creating more. His shouty meows, his little random outbursts at the blinds, his weird sleeping positions & little conversations we used to have about his chicken addiction, will all be missed. I've never felt heartbreak like the one you experience losing a pet. But he has people waiting for him in the sky to love him forever more until I make my way there one day.

Enjoy your nap mr. doo, when you wake up you will be met by family members who will love you as much as I do (& don't worry, I'll make sure to bring your snowman when the time comes for us to meet again).
