Belfast PDSA Pet Hospital

We want to keep you informed about some important changes at our PDSA Belfast Pet Hospital. From 15 December 2025, there will be adjustments to treatment pricing. These changes are due to the implementation of legislation following Brexit, which means veterinary medicine wholesalers in Great Britain can no longer supply practices in Northern Ireland. This will mean that the cost of medicines, consumables and equipment we purchase will rise. Treating your sick and injured pets remains our priority and we have tried to minimise the resulting increase in treatment prices as much as possible.

Here’s what this means for you:

  • Charity-funded pets will continue to receive treatment on a contribution-only basis.
  • Concessionary pets will see price increases for most treatments, but vet consultations will remain at £25.
  • Preventive care—such as neutering, vaccinations, and flea/worm treatments—will increase in price for all pets.
  • Our central dispensary in Great Britain can no longer send repeat prescriptions to Belfast clients. All medication will need to be collected from our Pet Hospital or Branch Clinic as we cannot post medication from these locations.

We understand these changes may cause concern, and we want to reassure you that our team is here to help. Staff can provide cost estimates on request, and written prescriptions for online use are available for a small fee—just ask your vet at your next appointment.

If you have any questions, please email Belfast.pethospital@pdsa.org.uk. We aim to respond within 10 working days. To keep emergency lines clear, please avoid calling the hospital about these changes.

Our priority is your pet’s health and wellbeing, and we’re committed to supporting you through this transition. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and continued trust in PDSA.
