Tricky Trixie Ford
Tricky was a sable and white Shetland Sheepdog. She came to live with me when her owner, my elder sister, died and here she happily stayed for three years until her death at the age of 14 1/2. She was supposed to be called Trixie but due to one or two elements of tricky behaviour as a puppy, the name metamorphosised into Tricky. More often than not she was called Tricky Woo after the television dog.
She was a beautiful dog inside and out. I felt very proud of the attention she generated when we went walking, usually off the lead.
Tricky didn't think much about toys. She made up games for us both with a lot of chasing, catching and dodging involved. At the age of 14 she was still leaping over puddles and water filled gutters. She never growled or snarled and never harmed people or animals, letting toddlers do whatever they wanted to to her.
I miss the joy she displayed when she was happy and after we had been parted for a while.
I will never forget her.
She is embedded in my heart with love.
