Poor Ginger’s life was hanging in the balance after being badly wounded in a suspected road traffic accident. He was rushed to his local PDSA Pet Hospital where vets worked tirelessly to save his life. 

Ginger was suffering from a serious head trauma and was too unwell to have further investigations initially. The vet teams’ priority was to get him stable. He was put on a drip to treat his shock and given pain relief to ease his suffering. 

Thanks to the critical care and close monitoring from the team, he started to stabilise. However, he was not out to the woods yet. He had swelling on his face, ulcers in both his eyes, and blood in the white part of his eye.  

Once stable enough, the vet team were able to check his condition thoroughly. There were no fractures to his jaw, but he continued to have nosebleeds throughout the day. Thankfully, after further monitoring and round the clock care, vets were happy with his progress and discharged him with pain relief and eye drops. He was finally reunited with his loving owner, Wendie. 

Wendie said, “I was distraught when I got the call to say Ginger had been found and was seriously injured. However, the team at PDSA have been brilliant. The care they have given to Ginger is second-to-none. I’m so grateful for everything they have done for him.”
