What's covered in your online consult

So, what can an online video consult consist of?

  • Full history taking exercise and full visual assessment
  • Ability to upload photographs ahead of the consultation for the vet to see
  • Send out laboratory tests (e.g urine sample test kit)
  • Send out medications (currently this does not include prescription-only medications); such as medicated shampoos, ear cleaners, diet and other products delivered direct to your door
  • Provide strong recommendations, diagnoses and clinical advice
  • Provide a full treatment plan direct to your device

What won’t be included:

  • Send out prescription-only medications
  • Perform certain tests; such as blood samples
  • Listen to the heart
  • Take the temperature
  • Hands on clinical examination (eg. feeling the tummy)

Common conditions that can be treated remotely:

  • Skin problems
  • Ear/eye problems
  • Diarrhoea
  • Arthritis issues
  • Behaviour problems
  • Parasites

Common conditions that cannot be treated remotely:

  • Severe physical injury
  • Severe vomiting problems
  • Most heart problems

NB. If you come through a symptom checker and the vet recommends that you need to be seen by a physical vet in practice, then you will be refunded the cost of your consultation.
