When your pet isn't home for Christmas you feel their absence everywhere

Christmas is a time for being together. For muddy paw prints by the door, familiar footsteps around the house and your pet curled up beside you.

But when a pet becomes seriously sick or injured, we’re there to help.

PDSA is a veterinary charity that keeps people and pets together. We provide a lifeline to owners who are experiencing financial hardship and can’t afford veterinary treatment. Every day, our vet teams care for sick and injured pets. On average, we care for around 4,900 pets every working day across our Pet Hospitals.

Your donation can help give sick and injured pets the care they need, giving them the best chance of recovering and returning home to the people who love them.

Hammy's owner, Shannon, knows firsthand how important PDSA's care can be. Hammy suddenly became unwell and had stopped acting like his usual playful self and was struggling to pass urine.

At PDSA, vets discovered he had a painful and life-threatening blocked bladder, which needed emergency treatment.

After three worrying nights in hospital, Hammy was finally able to go home to Shannon, where he belonged.

Your donation could help more pets like Hammy get the care they desperately need.

Help a pet make it home for Christmas

For the people who love them, having their pet home is everything

For over 100 years, we've been providing veterinary care to pets whose owners can't afford the full cost of treatment, because pets are much more than companions. They're part of our everyday lives – there to greet us at the door, keep us company and bring comfort when we need it most.

When Lola was hit by a car twice, her owner Georgina rushed her to PDSA, terrified she might lose her beloved pet. Lola had serious injuries, including a broken thigh bone, and needed surgery to amputate her badly injured leg.

Thankfully, Lola's operation was successful. With care from PDSA's veterinary teams, she recovered and was able to return home to the family who love her.
