We are delighted to confirm that, in line with government guidelines, PDSA shops in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are now open. Shops in Scotland will reopen on 26 April.
We can't wait to open up and can't wait to see you again!
The safety of our teams and customers remains our top priority, so we will continue following the safe ways of working that we introduced last year. This includes:
- Screens at the tills
- Quarantining donated goods for 48 hours
- Limiting customer numbers
- Wearing masks
- Social distancing
- Hand sanitisation
Hospital, Office and Fundraising Volunteers
Sadly, at the moment we are still unable to re-start volunteering in our hospitals, offices or community and fundraising teams. But we invite all of our volunteers from other parts of PDSA, to come and help in our shops until you can return to your usual role. Our retail teams would love to meet you and hear more about life in our hospitals, offices and community events. The charity would be very grateful for your support as we re-open shops. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to join a shop team.
Keeping in touch
We would love you to keep in touch with us while you wait to re-start volunteering.
Find out what we’re up to elsewhere on our main Facebook page, or read some of the heart-warming stories that you make possible by donating your time to us.
We also have a Volunteer Facebook group which we encourage all of our volunteers to join. This is a closed group just for PDSA volunteers so please remember to answer the membership questions when you ask to join.
What's happening where you volunteer?
Our Pet Hospitals are currently operating emergency services only, and some have had to close temporarily. We have therefore had to suspend all volunteering at our hospitals until further notice. If you are an existing volunteer, please join the PDSA Volunteers Facebook group to find out more and get regular updates.
As our shops reopen we have volunteering opportunities across the country. You can find out more about our charity shops and any volunteering opportunities on our charity shops page.
For the safety of all of our amazing volunteers and staff members, our teams are currently working from home wherever possible. We have therefore had to suspend all volunteering in our offices until further notice. If you are an existing volunteer, please join the PDSA volunteers Facebook group to find out more and get regular updates.
Obviously we want to help stop the spread of the virus and keep everyone safe. You can help to stop the spread by following the NHS’s advice, including making sure you wash your hands regularly. We’ll also have government advice posters up around all of our sites.
