A-level student runs the Swansea Half Marathon for PDSA
12 June 2026
Eighteen-year-old Jack from Ystalyfera, Swansea, is raising money for PDSA by taking part in The Swansea Half Marathon.
Starting at 9am, the Swansea Half Marathon took place on Sunday 7th June 2026, beginning at the Copr Baby near Swansea Area.
Jack, an A-level student, has decided to take up the challenge and raise money for poorly pets in need.
“After seeing posts on social media from PDSA and the amazing work they do first-hand in helping poorly and injured pets across the country, I wanted to give back and support them,” Jack explains. “I love animals and have rescued pets of my own: my cat Alex, my dogs Ruffus and Yogi, and my Leopard Gecko named Steve. I know how important the bond is between people and pets.”
For the past three months, Jack has been training hard with his mum. Throughout his training, he’s been surprised by the amount of support shown to him.
“Everyone has been so supportive during my training and cheering me on. They have also shown so much support for PDSA as well,” Jack says. “I can’t believe how much we’ve raised so far.”
Jack has raised an impressive £152 so far which will help provide vital care for poorly pets in need across our Pet Hospitals.
PDSA Vet Nurse, Shauna Walsh, said: “A big thank to Jack for his incredibly generous fundraiser to raise money for poorly pets in need. It’s thanks to wonderful people like him that we can continue to care for and treat pets across the UK. We’ll be rooting for him during his run.”
