Sandy’s two-year challenge for PDSA

22 July 2026

Learn about Sandy’s inspiring two-year challenge to give back to PDSA.

Animal-lover, Sandy, from Hampshire, is raising money for PDSA by challenging herself to go to the gym every day from 1 August 2026 to 1 August 2028.

“I’m going to push myself and go the gym every day, for two years,” says Sandy. “Even if it’s just 10 minutes from swimming, I’ll keep pushing and raising money for PDSA.

“I’ve been preparing myself by going on longer walks and getting into the habit of stretching before exercise.”

Sandy, who lives with her two dogs, Loki and Dobby, and her husband, has used PDSA services in the past. She explains: “PDSA has been there for me and my family for over 22 years. They have always been just one phone call away if we were worried or concerned about our pets. The staff are absolutely amazing – the job they do is always above and beyond.”

She’ll have a whole community cheering her on, but her biggest supporter is her husband. Sandy is even planning to make her own T-shirts as well to show off her support for PDSA.

“For anyone wanting to raise money for PDSA, I say go for it,” she says. “It doesn’t matter how much you raise as every penny helps to treat sick and injured pets.”

PDSA Vet Nurse, Shauna Walsh, said: “We are endlessly grateful for Sandy’s incredible dedication. Her inspiring challenge not only raises vital funds for poorly pets in need, but she also brings so much energy and passion to everything she does. We are cheering her on every step of the way and cannot thank her enough for her amazing support!”
