  • Cruciate ligament damage in dogs

If one of the cruciate ligaments is damaged the knee joint becomes wobbly and this is usually very painful. The most common way for a dog to damage a cruciate ligament is by jumping, skidding, twisting or turning awkwardly.

  • Gastroenteritis (stomach upset) in dogs

Gastroenteritis is a general term for a stomach and gut upsets. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea and gut pain.

  • Dog Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is very common in dogs and mild cases usually pass within a couple of days. Find out when to contact your vet and how you can care for your dog at home.

  • Cat flu in kittens

Cat flu is an illness that causes symptoms similar to human flu. It’s important to contact your vet for advice if your kitten develops any symptoms of cat flu, even if they are mild.

  • Arthritis in cats

Arthritis (osteoarthritis) is a very common condition that causes painful, swollen joints and makes moving around uncomfortable.

  • Dry eye in dogs

Dry eye is a condition that stops your dog producing tears and causes dry, painful eyes.

  • Immune mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) in dogs

IMHA is a condition of the blood that causes severe anaemia. IMHA causes the body (more specifically the immune system) to attack and destroy its own red blood cells.

  • Obesity in dogs

Vets estimate that nearly half of dogs in the UK are overweight! Being obese puts your dog at risk of health problems, and is likely to reduce how long they live.

  • Skin cancer in cats

Regularly check your cat for changes to their skin and book an appointment with your vet if you are worried.

  • Heatstroke in dogs

Heatstroke is sadly a common problem in dogs during the summer – even in the UK! Heatstroke can cause organ failure and death if it isn’t treated in time.
