Volunteering with PDSA
We have both long and short term volunteering opportunities available – so perhaps if you are on furlough and keen to make the most of your time off, or you are between roles or looking to build your skills and CV to help move into a career in retail then volunteering with PDSA could be a great opportunity for you
We’re hugely proud and appreciative of the incredible contribution of our volunteers – over 6,000 people volunteer their time to PDSA every year helping us to not only save pets but also to change people’s lives. Last year we treated over 470,000 pets bringing peace of mind to their owners – and we wouldn’t have been able to provide this fantastic service without the income raised by our incredible team of volunteers.
We provide full training, support you with ongoing coaching and help you thrive in a fun and challenging environment.
Our people are our top priority and we have put in a number of additional safety measures to do everything we can to make our shops as safe as possible for our volunteers, employees and customers.
We welcome volunteers with a variety of skills and from a variety of backgrounds, who are aged 18 and above. If you’re interested, take a look at roles local to you.
Launch of our Volunteer Hub
Our volunteers are really important to us, and we want to make sure that while you're with us, we give you the opportunity to develop new skills and build your CV. We have been working hard to create our Volunteer Hub and are delighted to confirm this is now live.
Our Volunteer Hub is full of useful information including induction information to welcome new volunteers, as well as training on health & safety, topics specific to different volunteering roles and a range of materials to support your own wellbeing and development. There is something for everyone – whether you want to enhance your CV, develop new skills or if you need some wellbeing tips and support to help cope with day to day life in this challenging time – there is lots on there, so why not have a go?
In the Volunteer Hub main menu you will find instructions and a short video to explain how to login and create an account and access the site. This site is for PDSA volunteers so to complete a course you will be asked to enter an enrolment key. If you are a PDSA volunteer but haven't received an enrolment key via email or letter please email volunteerhub@pdsa.org.uk
